Earlier this year we partnered with QMix 107.3 to give away a bathroom remodel in celebration of Lohmeyer Plumbing’s 90th anniversary. After months of planning, product selections, and preparation, the renovation is officially underway – and there’s been a lot happening since demolition began.
The first step was removing the existing shower, toilet, vanity and storage. We knew some of the drain piping needed attention after camera inspecting the lines earlier. Once the bathroom was opened up, our team removed additional drywall and framing and cut into the concrete floor so the old drain lines could be removed and replaced with new PVC piping. Once the underground plumbing was complete, the concrete was poured back and we could start rebuilding.
From there, we installed new water lines for the vanity, toilet and shower, roughed in the necessary vent piping, installed a new washing machine drain, and added vent piping for the bathroom’s new exhaust fan.
With the plumbing rough-in complete, the room has really started coming together. New drywall is up, the shower is beginning to take shape, and it’s finally starting to look like a bathroom again…or at least a room.
There’s still plenty of work ahead before the finished reveal, but projects like this are a good example of just how much can go into a bathroom remodel before you ever get to the pretty part.
